Default The LVL cap

Sry if this is already out there

Due to the amount of missions, quest, and experiance you get during the game, Lvl 20 is to low a lvl for max. Once i turn lvl 20 i dont bother duing any more quest, i find it pointless. Im not sure if everyone does this but i know a few people who do. So all im saying is the Lvl max should be rasied to like 40.

What do you think?

They're not going to. Ever.

They've been saying it ever since Guild Wars came out.

They shouldn't either. The game really starts at the max level.

You can always play that the max level is at 10 million XP points, and try to reach that. :P

i think this should be added to all the other level cap whines instead of making another.

Why are you even bothering to play the game at all if reaching level 20 is your only goal?

i do the missions/quests because i have fun doing them not to go OMG I GOT ANOTHER LEVEL OMG OMG.

go play wow and with the new expansion you can be grinding for weeks

well like godseth said, theyre not gonna do it

if they did #1 it would screw 55's cause it would raise max hp makin em useless

#2 levl 20 ascended ppl could go to the FoW do a couple quests there for 10k exp per quest and be levl 40 by the end of the day and ur back to the same "problem"

Any higher of a level cap and people would just want more.
The higher they raise it, the higher chances characters have of being practical Gods in the Guild Wars universe.
This isn't World of Warcraft. But then again, WoW isn't Diablo II, and neither is this.
I think the cap is fine, there are those times when I wish I could level up more, but that's usually during my ultra-boredem state.
Meh.

At level 20, you have a max of 200 attribute points and high 400 health. Thats balance. If theres level 40, there will obviously be more health and attribute points. That would be unbalanced.

Just change the quest to reward more than just Exp to attract people to do them.

@ Lvl 20 you have 25 or so skill points, correct?
25 Skill points - elites = 18 (say yer not a capping fan and get the bare minimum of 2 classes "core" elites only)
18 - a bunch of useful skills from many of the other professions = 0 skill points left.

The point to keep on playing is to gain skill points to diversify your character. This is as much for pvp as it is for pve. All of my characters have all professions unlocked and I enjoy playing more than just Mo/me, W/Mo, N/Me etc.

That my 2 cents.

Not quest anymore after 20? Are you serious? You've just missed out on 3/4s of the game. If you don't farm with that character, quests are the best way to get skill points. Sure anyone can buy 8 skills and play the same build that works everyday, but I can buy most, if not all of the skills, and change my build around all the time. I beat Unwaking Waters, by going N/Me and bringing degen spells, but the next mission Raisu Palace, I went MM. For Imperial Sanctum, I went SS.

Raising the level cap won't make the game any different then it is now. The problem you seem to be having, is that you think once you hit level 20, the game is over. When in fact, its far from over, you're actually just getting started. I'd like to think of Prophecies as the "Pre" area of Guild Wars, I leveled my character, got cool skills, weapons, and learned how to play. Now I'm in Factions, and I'm bringing everything I learned with me. When Chapter 3 comes, I'll continue on, bringing over everything new I learned in Factions.

i'm kind of wondering what proffesion he uses.... i mean on all my chars i have gotten to level 20 thus far: an ele/n, me/r, and w/mo i am constintly switching skills around to find new things and maybe come up with a new build for a new area to farm no one has come up with yet. With the new titles i think further levels is pointless. the only reason i would recomend additional lvl is if they made it so after lvl 20 you no longer earn attribute points or health and it was just a number associated with your name. but with the new titles to show how much experience you have... i find this now unnessicary. Don't get me wrong... i would love to make a god like char with TONS of attribute points... but i think after a bit that would ruin the game for me.

The game has created such a balance in Skills and the DMG they do and the amount of HP poeple have that THEY WILL NEVER EVER IN A MILLION YEARS RAISE THE LVL CAP... its not for PvEers.. the Core of the game is in the WARS of GUILD WARS... so once you start to get into PvP you'll know what I mean... trust me I felt the same way about increasing the lvl back when I was a few months into the game...

in an interview with the owner he stated pve was the starting core and later changed so pvp was given equal status.

as for GUILD WARS the lore refers to the past when GUILD WARS weakened Ascalon enough so the char could take over.

note that in all the storyline of GW do you see a hint of a guild war being fought in the present?

I think you get the point, BauMan. And yes it has been suggested before a few times, and those threads met with the exact same response.

I'd like to throw in my 2 cents though. I am a PvE guy all the way through. From my previous experience with MMORPGs where everyone could get up to level 60 or further, I took to this level cap right away. Why? Because whenever I played an MMORPG the same thing would happen; I don't have as much time to spend on the game, so all my friends would surpass me and get much higher level than me. Then we couldn't play together. The level cap of 20 is a very nice touch; I don't lose touch with people (unless I want to), because we are all the same level. It's impact on the PvP scene is obvious, but I think it does tremendous good to the PvE aspect as well, and I've always thought so.

Anyway, now that I've said my part, I'm closing this. Yes, I get the last word, suckers! I'm closing it because it's been suggested many times before (and consequently shot down). We do not need multiple threads that all look exactly the same. Use the Index of Ideas and the search function before you post.
